Munch On It

Munch on it. Meditate on God's Word

Munch On It!!

Okay so now that I have your attention I'd like to talk to you about how to chew your food . . . . well . . . maybe not. I know that when your parental units (mom and dad) say "Munch on it" that means "eat your food" or something that has to do with chewing. But I'm going to learn you a totally new meaning for "Munch on it". What's your favorite dessert (okay, so why desert spelled desert and dessert spelled dessert, that didn't make any sense did it. Well as I'm writing this I'm saying these words trying to figure out which is cake or cookies and which is hot sand with a bunch of cactus that look like someone raising their arms up) . . . ummm. . . where was I going with this? oh, yeah, your fav dessert.

So . . . now that you've figured out your favorite and you kinda have that taste in your mouth and your mouth is kinda watering because just thinking about it makes you really hungry for it. . . As a surprise your Mom makes it for you.

For me, I have lot's-o fav desserts. Okay, my wife, Dudee (her name is actually Judy but I call her Dudee) mixes vanilla icecream, soda crackers, and chocolate . . . oh yeah . . . and walnuts. It's soooo good, I hate it when the bowl is empty. In fact, it's so good you want to keep it in your mouth as long as you can because as soon as you swallow it the taste is gone. So you try to "Munch on it" as long as you can, until it gets too gross and you have swallow it of course. K, so what does this have to do with spiritual stuff. One of the most important things we can do as a follower of Christ is to read and study the Bible. In fact, it's so important that we can't have a successful Christian life if we don't read the Bible. But it's not enough to just read the Bible. We have to "munch on it" (meditate) otherwise we won't remember what we just read. So to munch on it you keep it in your mind as long as you can because the longer you keep it in your mind the more you'll remember.
